The revolutionary Severn OCT® Triple Offset Valve (TOV) introduces advanced hybrid sealing technology to the triple‑offset platform, incorporating interchangeable seals, dual anti‑blowout protection, and superior sealing performance to meet the most stringent industry specifications. This innovative design sets a new benchmark in high‑integrity isolation and precision control applications.
When comparing Triple Offset Valves (TOV) to Double Offset valves, both may appear similar on paper; however, TOVs offer a clear advantage in critical service conditions. The unique conical disc and seal geometry provides repeatable sealing, longer service life, and enhanced durability. Severn’s patented OCT® technology significantly improves upon traditional triple‑offset designs, making our valves ideal for severe‑service, high‑pressure, and high‑temperature environments.
The Oblique Cone Technology (OCT®) moves away from the traditional elliptical design and introduces a circular sealing geometry, enabling the use of trims traditionally applied in double‑offset valves, such as anti‑cavitation trims for noise reduction and flow stabilisation. This makes the TOV the ultimate solution for both isolation and precise control valve applications.

The TOV is inherently self‑compensating for wear, ensuring consistent sealing performance with every cycle. The signature third‑offset camming action reduces seal wear by minimising contact. The disc and seal engage only within the last 1–2° of rotation, significantly decreasing friction compared to a Double Offset valve, which experiences contact across approximately 10° of movement.
Severn’s continuous investment in Research & Development has enabled the introduction of our hybrid polymer‑metallic seal, combining the flexibility of a polymer with the reliability of metal‑to‑metal sealing — a perfect solution for high‑cycle, fire‑safe, and demanding process environments. Should the soft polymer element become damaged, the metallic seal automatically takes over, providing a secure shut‑off.
The hybrid seal has undergone extensive cycle testing, fire‑testing, and performance validation, proving zero leakage under extreme operating conditions. In contrast, damage to seals in Double Offset valves often results in the need for premature replacement and costly unplanned downtime.

The TOV’s standard design incorporates features essential to the most demanding specifications:
- Dual anti‑blowout protection
- ATEX‑compliant polymer seal (EN ISO 80079‑36)
- Fully field‑serviceable construction
- Complete seal interchangeability (HS Seal → Laminated Seal → Solid Seal)
- No major valve component replacement required

The entire valve can be upgraded onsite without special tools, ensuring maximum convenience and operational efficiency.
