The strategy for the Control, Choke and General Isolation valves is centred around the need to ensure that the valves operate when required (often after long periods in a static position) and the need for assured seal. The strategy here is two-fold, encompassing the implementation of a general maintenance routine (including flushing & greasing prior to shutdown), as well as the ability to provide fast replacement from stock, or the supply chain, in the event of seal failure.
