Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The HR Officer needs to align our HR initiatives and functions with business objectives & needs and will aid in generalist HR tasks for the Severn Division. This is a fast paced and varied generalist role which will involve providing advice on HR matters and supporting with ER issues.

This role will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, training & development, organizational effectiveness, statutory compliance, workforce planning, and employee engagement.

Gist duties of this role will include aligning employees to business objectives, verifying and recruiting the right talent, enhancing staff performance & potential, working with appraisal systems, supporting employee development, enhancing recruitment efforts, planning strategic HR initiatives, managing HR consultants, running orientation and onboarding processes, communicating role expectations & competency frameworks, designing succession plans, maintaining employee relations, managing internships, providing HR solutions, resolving grievances, retaining a talented workforce, and ensuring compliance with regulations, updating policies, procedure & practices, and overseeing wellness and health initiatives.

Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities, But not Limited to:


  • Act as a first point of contact for HR related queries, providing knowledgeable advice and guidance to the employees and escalating issues to the next level report where appropriate.
  • Successfully implement the pulse survey and monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement and satisfaction index.
  • Overseeing hiring efforts and finalizing on the right talents
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for identifying, planning, leading, delivering and measuring all aspects of training and development activities.
  • Framing of competency matrix and coordinating for finding skillset gaps in individuals through competency assessment and framing a training plan and calendar for the gaps found.
  • Selection of trainers internal/external based on the training topics and facilitating of planned programs.
  • Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision. and conducting exit interviews and analysis on the same.
  • Review the company’s talent management processes within the division, including performance/potential management, resource planning and succession planning.
  • Review and analyze talent metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience.
  • Ensuring all level goal setting and conducting performance/potential reviews and proposal of salary workings, promotions, and job-rotation to Business head for approval.
  • Working with leadership to uncover the talent implications e.g., any significant gaps to meet long-term objectives and create a PIP, long-term workforce plan that prioritizes people-related initiatives.
  • Success in creating, driving and program managing effective development, employee relations, retention, and reward programs.
  • Report with analysis on key HR metrics including employee performance, retention, turnover rates, and headcount reports and updating on HR function related MIS.
  • Develop a statutory compliance calendar and ensure timely compliance.
  • Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues and support and guide Managers in relation to Employee Relations issues.
  • Influential partnership with middle and leadership level within the organization to execute the HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness.
  • Plan, implement and manage the rewards & recognition to employees and are notified of qualifying rewards in a timely manner.
  • Proactively contribute ideas to continuously improve the HR function.


  • CIPD qualified level 3,5 or other equivalent qualification
  • Human resource Management specialization or similar qualification
  • Knowledge of Employment laws and laws related to organization.  
  • 3+ Years of experience, where previous experience is also crucial, and candidates ideally must be an HR acumen, preferably in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience in handling employee relations preferably in a manufacturing sector.
  • Experience of using HR Information Systems.
